Levi Strauss & Co. is a privately held American clothing company known worldwide for its first pair of Levi's 501 Jeans. It was founded in 1873. Levi’s jeans were official jeans of the American army during the World War II. After the end of the war, they were sold in Europe as war surplus and it was the first acquaintance of Europeans with jeans clothing. Basic Levi’s products are devided into categories marked with colors. Red color indicates the highest quality of the production process. The clothing with orange labels are more oriented at people who spend money with stint. In 1987, there appeared a silver label for the items produced in new colors and under new procedures.
