The chain of Auchan hypermarkets is present in 13 countries, including countries of European Community and China. Auchan Group is organized into five core businesses: hypermarkets, supermarkets, banks, real estate and e-commerce.
Auchan Company was founded in 1961 in France. Being the tenth world trade leader, the company owns 533 hypermarkets and 732 supermarkets in 13 countries of Europe and Asia. In March 2007 it was officially announced about the opening of “Auchan” in Ukraine, which became the twelfth country where French trade network "Auchan" opened its stores.
The first Auchan hypermarket (“Auchan-Petrivka”) opened on March 29th, 2008 in Kyiv. The second one (“Auchan-Donskoi”) opened on December 12th, 2008 in Makiivka, Donetsk region. 5 more Auchan hypermarkets opened in spring 2009 in Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhia and Kyiv. On March 26th, 2010 Auchan hypermarket opened in Lviv.
The model of the total discount determines commercial policy of “Auchan” in Ukraine, which is fully consistent with the concept of groups - to improve the purchasing power and quality of life for a growing number of buyers and do it with responsible, professional, enthusiastic and valuable employees.
